The North is our place of momentary completion, where we rest to assimilate our newly gained perspectives from our hard fought struggles. It is represented by the mountain and the element of air. It provides the grounding and structure to integrate our changes and make them visible. In the North, you approach the point of ending and new beginnings. You must take the lessons of your childhood tempered by what you have learned in the darkness of the cave and the depth of the waters and to ascend to the top of the mountain to reflect and shine. On your ascent, you may crash, backslide or feel that the path is blocked. You may experience a delay or a need to backtrack; yet, you must continue without knowing the final destination. There is a need for faith. There is a reason the mountain is found in many teachings of struggle and challenge and redemption. Faith is the courage to act from your heart, to follow your innermost being, to trust your innermost voice that whispers to you why you are here. Many of us may be uncomfortable with the feelings of success or accomplishment and want to turn away from any attention. It is most important to feel this sense of accomplishment within yourself, regardless of the attention you may or may no receive from the world.

Across many cultures, achieving success may be recognized by the presentation of a totem of success. It may be a badge or button , a crown or scepter, a trophy or a plaque . What I like about this exercise is the idea that it confers a level of accomplishment in being able to make and hold the wand and an opportunity for sharing its magic. You deserve the best for all you have learned in life.
